Matchup I can't wait to see: New Mexico-Santa Clara should be quite a battle between two emerging teams out West filled with young yet experienced talent. UNM has a senior standout in Gordon and an up-and-coming shooter in Williams, but will be in the beginning stages of working in point guards in freshman Hugh Greenwood and Arizona State transfer Demetrius Walker. Santa Clara, meanwhile, has one of the nation's top 3-point shooters in the redshirt junior Foster and already has an established point guard in the sophomore Roquemore. Yesterday, the brand announced that Chicago will become the first back-to-back host of the McDonald’s All American Game when the event tips-off March 28, 2012 from Chicago’s United Center. And as part of the celebration for the 35th anniversary of the event in 2012, they’ll also be announcing the 35 greatest all-time McDonald’s All Americans next year.

In addition to setting an all-time event attendance record, last year’s games generated $625,000 in proceeds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana. The proceeds will help build the nation’s largest Ronald McDonald House, scheduled to open in Chicago in the summer of 2012.
