These came with my 2011 Madone. They drive a lot and give a nice ride, but .... The tires are coming apart on the flanks. It's like the meshes of rubber has not complied with the tire in the molding process. A bit like a re tread. Had two apartments with them and can see many small cuts on the bottom. Will take them back and see what the warranty is like. Maybe change brands.
Strengths: I will take the first suggestion of the reviewer and add my two cents. These tires came on my new Madonna bought the spring 09. Having never ridden a road tire Bontrager I was a little wary of the performance.I was pleasantly surprised!
These tires roll very well, are quiet and does not seem to push back the nicks, cuts and apartments better than most. They stick in corners enough to inspire confidence and are decent in the wet too.
I run these wheels on my training, but ran on a few times too. I'm not sure of the total mileage since I swap wheels but maybe 1000 +? I only got a flat right now and it was my fault for riding too far to the right shoulder of a dirty-riddled glass. I ran them in a critique of rain last summer. The guys were sliding everywhere.I managed to stay on track without too much difficulty and I attribute most of these tires.
They are good enough, I bought a new set of backups for when I need a spare tire!
Strengths: I was looking for Race X Lite Hard Case but somehow had the Race X Lite AC. The labeling of protection referred to flat sales and the guy that played in a big way. In the store, I thought the CA was "HC" for hard cases. I had already bought a set of tires Bontrager Race Lite 32mm Case for my hybrid, and they never went flat. While I liked the label Hard Case, and maybe I'm just a hard case too.
This was my first time installing a tire without rod. He has not the form of a U-shaped channel in which pour a little baby powder. It was weird, but I understood everything and he got it correctly. It was at home on the couch, I do not want to do it again in the street, but I could not. I can not do it.
After a few hundred miles of riding, (some trails of limestone [NCR] and a lot of road) tire looks almost like new. The scratch is one of some rubber, but it is minor. I remember once or twice, when something hard shot from under my tires, and abrasion is probably the result.
