Toll Brothers buys Silver Oak acreage
Closed on a deal June 14 to acquire 180 acres in Katy from Moody-Simmons Partners.Houston-based Moody-Simmons planned in the mid-2000s to develop the property on FM 1463 as a 340-home community called Silver Oak. But the development never happened.
This is the largest raw land acquisition in Houston and the state of Texas for Horsham, Penn.-based Toll Brothers (NYSE: TOL). Terms were not disclosed.
Toll Brothers intends to develop 305 home lots on the property and construct all the homes in the community, still dubbed Silver Oak.
Luxury homes in the community will range in size from 3,000 square feet to 5,500 square feet, and be priced from $400,000 and up.
Lot development will start by the end of the year.
